Join me in supporting Measure GG

Editor:

The best antidote to screen usage that I can think of is recreation. It is hard to be on a cell phone when you are chasing a soccer ball, blowing bubbles in the pool, or attempting to make a basket. The good news is that we live in a community that prioritizes recreation. Our Piedmont Recreation Department provides all sorts of programming for kids and adults, and helps organize amazing community events like Food Truck Fridays, Movies in the Park, and our beloved Harvest Festival. The not so good news is that we are falling behind on maintaining the very parks, fields, and facilities where these amazing recreational activities take place. Our city employees are working hard with limited funding to prioritize increasingly costly maintenance so that residents can continue to engage in the activities we all enjoy. It is estimated that local Measure GG would provide an additional $1.5 million for the City of Piedmont to help pay for essential services and facilities. Please join me in supporting what we like best about living in Piedmont, please join me in supporting Measure GG.
